Together Each Achieves More.
My pastor, Pastor Bola Odutola once said, 'if there is one thing God cherish, it is the unity of purpose'. Remember the wall of Jericho, it was with a common purpose that it was raised down. The trinity that teaches God as the father, the son and the holy spirit is also based on unity. Today, what we see is a generation not at peace with itself. People are at each other's throat, trying to out do one another just to gain the spot light.
As we see today, the superiority of man is in material things he buys. 'I beta pass my neighbour' is in our homes not necessarily because we need electricity, rather, it is because, we, unlike our neighbours can afford one.
Christians and Muslims are disagreeing over the supremacy of one religion over the other. In offices, mediocres and impressionists reign supreme. People have left their core duties to embrace office politics, arrogating achievements to themselves without giving due credits to those who toiled day and night to make things work. Some will complain about their bosses, forgetting that they are part of the problems.
How about leaders and the gornerned? Pastor Rick Warren once said, 'Followers make leaders. Without followers, we are loners, not leaders'. The followers have also forgotten that they can achieve more with their votes. They forgot the need for a common purpose and the need to secure a better future for the generation unborn. They got carried away by the gimmicks of the ruling few.
Hmmmn…here is my take, we should all realise that there are innumerable gains in unity. This country was built upon the foundation of unity, three major tribes coming together with one purpose. We can do little by ourselves, we will do much more when we learn to work with others.
According to Jean-Jacques Rousseau, 'Man is born free and everywhere he is in chains, one thinks himself the master of others but he is a greater slave than they'. The greatness we so much desire could be in the association we form. We are not made to be an island.
According to Deut. 32:30, 'How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, unless their rock had sold them, and the lord had given them up?'. This verse buttresses the fact that two people can do much more than one person given the same amount of grace. He who has read this piece, should think on these things!

A familiar road once taken?
We all know that militancy has not been eradicated in the Niger-Delta region, it is a known fact that only about a quarter of them embraced the amnesty programme. The series of buck-passing that followed the event could have been avoided if Mr. President has been objective with his statement, he is the president and the buck stops at his desk. . It is only in this country that we don't learn from the past. Why do we leave the obvious truth to chase shadows?
History will not be fair to the idealists who call the shot, the pessimists that sit on the fence hoping that things will get better and the terrorists that want to destroy what is left of our national pride. As I look forward to 2011,there is a far distant voice saying that the journey to 2011 is a familiar road once taken....I only hope it's not what I’m thinking!

They are still our slaves!
My attention was drawn to an article tittled 'They are still our slaves' allegedly written by one Havard Professor called Dee Lee.
Let's reflect on the points raised and work on how they won't become real in our lives.
" THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES. We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery. Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.
Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, “The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.” We now live in the Information Age. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com, not to mention their own Black Bookstores that provide solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently, if at all.
GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income ( 2.22%).
Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing.
They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them “Status” or that they have achieved their Dream.
They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities.
With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn’t want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They’ll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them.
SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture. A “Talented Tenth” he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some “form” of success.
However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn’t read that the “Talented Tenth” was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life. Instead, that segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner.
They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community.
They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM).
They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own, as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and our rooms.
Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are “helping” their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don’t worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, THEY DON’T READ!!!! "

Dressing nude, a rude distraction
Son of God was suddenly distracted while basking in the euphoria of Chelsea’s prospect of winning the match.
The ‘Blues’ were leading by three goals and just as Kalou(this guy has really improved) was about scoring another goal, a lady entered, distracting everyone with her appearance.
All moral sense was thrown to the dustbin with the way she was dressed, showing more than her cleavage.
It seems that being fashionable these days means going nude to our ladies.
Just about the time I was concentrating on the match, another semi-nude lady walked in with a ‘don’t I look fabulous’ smile.
I need no one to tell me that I have got two shows to watch after all, one is between the two clowns that just entered and the other is the match Chelsea eventually won .
Do I need the rude distraction from the ladies? That is a question that begs for an answer.
The Corporate Injustice
While majority seems to be enjoying the ubiquity it offers, some of us have developed a mediocre attitude towards it.
I was scheduled for an appointment at a multimedia outfit few days back and several calls were made to confirm the time of appointment only for the phone to ring without being picked.
On getting to the company at the stipulated time, the receptionist said after confirming the appointment, ‘Sorry Mr. Wale, your appointment is at 3p.m’.
You can imagine the disappointment given the fact that I will have to wait for four hours before seeing the M.D.
You may say this is not new but it is definitely one corporate injustice too many.

Re: Straw, hackers and the rebranding Nigerian project.
Some of we youths would have stopped writing about what our leaders have failed to do and resign to fate but for the reserved energy and the enormity of the need for the government to provide things that would shape our future .
I couldn't agree less with the submission of the writer of this piece.
It's really a shame that our leaders have failed to face the reality on ground. My confidence in the believe that this country will get it right someday is dwindling with recent developments.
Madam Dora should know that what we need now is re-orientation and not rebranding .What image are we trying to rebrand? Is it the image of endless kidnapping and agitation from the Niger delta or an image of chronic power failure being experienced by the masses?
Our economy is in recession and the custodians are saying it is not true irrespective of the glaring evidence.
Government is being handled by old hands who spend three days in office and four days in hospital beds abroad. The few young brains like Dora are made redundant by being given a post they know nothing about. The righteous are being persecuted while the corrupt are having a field day amassing wealth for their unborn generation.
The perpetrators of the scourge called corruption that contributed to the dented image of this country are getting lighter sentences for stealing billions of naira while a petty thief who stole a meager sum of 4,800 naira and a chicken was recently sentenced to 5 years imprisonment without an option of fine…..yuk!
While I’m not trying to justify the actions of the few uncultured “Young Guns”(using the Arsenal sobriquet for their players) among us, it is evident that our youths have lost appetite for that which is dignifying scrambling for the piece of the action in a get rich quick scheme. Our education sector is in comatose; there are no jobs for the rising number of graduates. The few who have decided to embark on entrepreneurships are not being supported and yet these impressionists we called leaders are thinking of rebranding an obviously sick country like Nigeria.
Mummy Dora, please you can't model a product that is evidently bad, we need to repackage and re-orientate ourselves, provide jobs, reposition our educational sector, aid our ailing economy, improve electricity, create programmes that can encourage innovation among youths, scrap or restructure the N.Y.S.C and genuinely support entrepreneurship. Until these are done, the rebranding effort will be another charade, another effort in futility and a waste of our dwindling income.

Hanging on What Corruption can Offer !
Yet we condemn our Politicians at any given opportunity
Each time we heard that they embezzled public funds
We crucify them not knowing that
We are also part of the decadence
Corruption is a cankerworm,
A virus that has eaten so deep into our sub-conscious mind
It is everywhere,
It is our way of life and means of livelihood
Ask a child what his ambition is
And you won't be surprised that he want a piece of the national cake
He will cry for no reason
Hoping to be bribed with a piece of meat or Ice cream
Our Youths have lost appetite for that which is dignifying
Scrambling for a piece of the action in a get-rich quick scheme
The middle-aged are caught in the mesh of being the major giver and the receiver
Our elders are not tired of being involved,
They have tasted the piece of the cake too
And won’t let go.
Not even when their health is
Telling them to leave the system for good
The haves amassed wealth through her
For their unborn generation
The have-nots feed on her crumbs waiting for the next manna from heaven
It has taken the shine of Patriotism and replaces it with disloyalty
A gateman or a security man could be nice to you
Don't be shocked he wants some Tip or Egunje in return
How can we get rid of this Cancer or is it virus?
The nation have spent trillions of naira to cure her citizens of this disease
Scapegoats have been made out of the perpetrators
Yet Corruption still thrive among us
Sweeping across the six geo-political zones
Devouring and destroying what is left of our pathetic Integrity
Only God knows how we came in contact with this scourge
And only he knows how and when we will all be cured
This country will end up being a sad one
Full of potentials and yet cannot thrive
Just because everyone is hanging on what Corruption can offer!

Year 2009:The Survival Strategy!
Year 2009 has been prophesied as a year of Famine, it has been predicted as a Year where Nations will groan and some of the rich will commit suicide .
Listening to my Pastor the other day, I couldn’t agree less with his submission, not with the Financial gloom, Food Crisis, Downturn in the Oil Price coupled with other fundamental problems this nation faced in 2008.The Prediction to most of us who is hopeful of the year 2009 is shocking bearing in mind the losses in Salaries and various Investments we experienced in the year 2008.
According to the Popular saying: He who fails to plan , Plan to Fail. The reality on ground is that the world is in a troubled state and without adequate planning, Year 2009 will have many causalities. Tagging the year as a year of Famine is not to condemn the year, rather it is to throw caution to the wind, to prevent us from living in self delusion, to reconstruct our character and to improve on our steadfastness and commitment to God.
It has also been said that an individual who cannot cater for his Family outside his present Job or income throughout the year is an endangered species, reason being that more Jobs is expected to be lost this Year. Pondering on this, How many of us can survive if we lose our various Jobs today? Can we settle the recurrent bills of this year from our savings alone? If your answers to these questions is No, then you are an endangered species who urgently need to sit and plan .This is not also to say that those who have the resources to absorb the challenges of the year do not also need to plan, we all need to do things right this year irrespective of our Financial status.
How do you Plan for the Year?
1. By Reconstructing Your Character: Are you guilty of self delusion-Living the important things undone to take care of the unimportant? Are you guilty of Procrastinating? Do you do things because others are doing it? Are you investing your resources in things you don’t understand or rely on people to handle your money?
It is time for you to change the “WHO” in you this year. It is never too late because year 2009 is not smiling at all. It will only smile on those who plan early enough for its challenges.
Our actions an inactions today will surely affect our tomorrow.
Character reconstruction is important because it is that which separate the Just from Unjust, the Qualified from the Unqualified and the Professional from the Unprofessional. Your conscience is the minister of internal affairs of your destiny and he whose character does not match his words is a Fraud.
2. By Diversifying Your Investment Portfolio: There is an old financial advice that one shouldn’t put his eggs in one basket. Having a diversified investment portfolio will prevent your fortune to disappear . It has been predicted that the economy gloom being witnessed today will get worse by the day. There is the need for us to change our ways of doing Business. You need to look at other areas you can invest your time and money in other than the usual Practice of buying Stocks, Commodities, Mutual Funds, Forex and Fixed Assets.
Don’t ever think you know what a market will do at any given point in time.
One of the biggest advantages for a sound money management is “Knowing that you don’t know” what a market will do at any point in time.
3. By being Prudent :A car is a means of Transportation to get you from one Place to the other. Many people consider it a reflection of themselves and spend money on it at every given opportunity instead of driving the car for its entire useful life and invest the money saved.
Others buy things they don’t need. Take a look around your house; Bedroom, Bathroom, Kitchen, Sitting Room, Wardrobe and Drawers and see if there are things you haven’t used in the past one year, if there are, chances are that the money you spent in purchasing all those things are wasted money that could have been used to improve your net worth.
It is really important to invest your savings wisely this year in order for it to give you a handsome ROI(Return On Investment).Put that empty space in your House to good use, Cultivate the habit of drawing your scale of Preference and Prioritize your spending this year and the end will justify the means.
3. By Being Wise: Bulls make a little, Bears make a little and the Pigs get Slaughtered is a popular guide to investment in the financial market. The meaning you can deduce from this is that you need to be wise with whatever financial dealings you are involved .Don’t be Greedy this Year, greed has ruined many potential Business men. Also have it at the back of your mind that any fool can get into a market but it is the real Pros that know when to get out.
On the other hand, we should invest our resources in Knowledge acquisition this year for it is the surest way out of Poverty. That first degree that earned you your present Job can only get you employed but will never guarantee the Job for long or make you become wealthy.
A willingness to learn, to improve your career and finances is essential if you want to eventually become wealthy this year.
4. By Embracing the Attitude of Giving: It has been said by men of God that there is no Supernatural Miracle that can be performed or experienced without a supernatural sowing of seed. This fact is what the likes of Warren Buffet, Larry Ellison and Bill Gate realized that made them resolved to give to the needy and also to churches even though they don’t attend church services. The popular U.S Oil Mogul-John D. Rockeffella Fella wrote in his will that A “Perpetual “ Tithe and Offering should be given to the Church while he is dead, how many of us can be that magnanimous?
Think about what will be the faith of the motherless, the widows and the Homeless in view of the challenges that are to come in the year 2009. The reality is that whatever we earn, no matter how small our income or savings are, we need to share it with people in want.
Irrespective of the fact that you are categorized as the Haves or the Have-nots , you should cultivate the attitude of giving because it’s the only secret of receiving.
Conclusively, Let us all put our trust in God. He is the alpha and the omega. We need to commit our strategy for the year in his hands. There is also the need for us to embrace that which is righteous in his face so that we can take dominion of the goodies of the year 2009 as is expected of a true child of God.
May God help us all this year(amen).

1. Sell EUR/USD GBP/USD if the actual is 45.2 or a more higher value for 30 pips
2. Buy EUR/USD AND GBP/USD if the actual is 44.6 or a more lower value for 30 pips

CURRENCY:USD
At 2:30p.m Nigerian time The U.S department of Labor should be releasing the Number of those filing for Unemployment insurance for the first time ,the report hasn't been favourable this month going by the previous release,However,bookmakers have predicted a more improved figure of 575K as against last report's of 586K on Dec 24.
- Action Bias:
1. Sell USD on any pair if the actual is 597K or Higher for 50 pips
2. Buy USD on any pair if the actual is 575K or Lower for 50pips
- FRIDAY
At 10:30a.m Manufacturing PMI(Purchasing Managers' Index) will be released.It is expected to come lower at 33.5.
- ACTION BIAS:
1. Buy GBP/USD if the Actual is 37.5 or a more higher value for 50pips
2. Sell GBP/USD if the actual is 31.5 or a more lower Value
Note:I will advice you to trade this on Straddling and enter the market 10minutes before news release as The Halifax HPI m/m will be coming out almost at the same time.

Given the above mathematical calculation, with hard work you can be close to your Promised land. Manna doesn’t just fall from heaven likewise water did not just gush out from the rock; it is with hard work that these things came to pass.
Remember also the Israelites; it is with hard work that they were able to get to the cannan land.
Another thing that compliment hardwork is Knowledge, as you can see from our mathematical calculation and to buttress the importance of Knowledge, remember King Solomon, who only asked for Wisdom from God. If many of us were given the opportunity ,I bet that 98% will ask for money forgetting that without the knowledge or wisdom to spend that money, it is as good as gone.
So many people have wasted resources they have laboured for because their hard work have not been complimented Knowledge.
On the other hand, Attitude is really paramount to succeed in life. Have you been working hard without anyone noticing your input? Have you been praying without any answers? Are you a Leader who is not appreciated or accepted? Are you working without fulfillment? If any of these is happening to you, then you did better check your Attitude.
Every day you choose the clothes you wear, the food you eat and the attitude you adopt, our daily attitude is that ingredient, the much needed catalyst that will propel our potentials to a point of admiration.
I urge you to adopt an attitude like that of the Psalmist in the Bible in psalm 118:24 :”This is the day the lord has made: we will rejoice and be glad in it”.
Speaking also on Attitude,Ground Zero is a space where the Twin Towers once stood in New York.Three thousand People died there, and how did New Yorkers respond?
A sign at the edge of Ground Zero Proclaims, “The human spirit is not measured by the size of the act but by the size of the heart.” That is an attitude terrorists will never Conquer.
Lastly, it is only with God’s love that we can get to the promised land. In our mathematical calculation, it is only God’s love that is 101%,with his love you can record 101% success, with his love you can have 101% blessings and unmerited favour.
Remember the popular bible verse that says “For God so loved the world that he gave his begotten son, that whosoever believe in him shall have everlasting life”.
This is to show the extent of God’s love to mankind.
Without his love, mankind won’t have the required strength for hard work, knowledge and attitude which is needed for Success in life.
In as much as God’s love is Omni-Present, it is not everybody that has it.
How can God’s love be acquired ?
You can acquire God’s love by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, it is through him that all will be saved.
Also God’s love can be given unconditionally to those who choose to love ,give , forgive and render help unconditionally.
Conclusively, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that: while Hard work and Knowledge will get you close and attitude will get you there, it’s the love of God that will put you over the top! Have a nice week and see you at the TOP!

Forex Trading Signals
Starting from next week ,Yours truly will be posting forex trading signals for my readers free of charge.
This is in response to your agitation ,this would have come earlier but due to some other comitments i wasn't able to come up with something like this.
As i have always been saying,the business of Forex Trading is not a get- rich quickly venture,it is a system that needs to be analysed,mastered and profit from.
One major thing that has been the bane of all traders(both new and old) is "Emotional Trading".
We will be discussing this over again in due course.

An Open letter to Tomorrow.
How is your brother Today?
I need to write this letter because people have been asking questions about what you hold in store for them.
Many have been agitating about you, some are anxious about your imminence while only few believe in you.
Life has been lost because of the uncertainty that surrounds you.
Brothers are killing themselves just because of you.
Nations are at daggers drawn because they don't trust you.
Corruption thrives among your faithful just because they don't understand you.
Maybe if you had revealed yourself, your brother, Today would not have been badly bruised and battered.
He would have thrived without Chaos, Corruption and Human inhumanity to man.
It is high time you reveal yourself and set the record straight so that your brother can have the deserved peace.
Can you ?
Why do you Prefer to dwell in Secrecy and only choose to flourish in the ambience of your lovely brother Today.
Maybe your followers should come to terms with that and stop bothering about your coming,
Maybe they should start thinking of treating Today right for that is the only guaranteed way they can see your good side.
I only hope they can take a cue from the writer whose Tomorrow is guaranteed.
I hope they will read this Tomorrow.

Speaking the minds of my fellow Corps Members
I am writing this piece to tell those concerned that we are sick and tired of the situation, we are fed up with the way things are going ,we are aggrieved because our fellow countrymen seems to have lost their values : the true value of existence and that of being our brother’ s keepers
I must have seen or come in contact with the poor Adetola, a graduate of Geology from Olabisi Onabanjo University without knowing while he was an undergraduate in O.O.U. I can imagine how much money went down the drain, how much human effort, faith, perseverance and or endurance he had, just to graduate from the almighty O.O.U.
I can feel the pain of his dad who must have spent a fortune raising him, I can imagine those days he would come home requesting for money for one thing or the other. I can imagine those days in school when he had to write Tests without the lecturers informing him and his colleague, I can imagine those period he had to write unscheduled examinations, I can imagine those times he had to search for missing results, I can imagine those months of waiting endlessly for his name to be forwarded to the N.Y.S.C for the scheme.
How can one quantify the Joy, the hope and optimism of his father when he finally made the list of those that would eventually serve the fatherland? Can you also imagine the pains, turmoil and anger that enveloped the homes of the other two corps members who were slain by the uncultured, untrained, uncivilized Almajaris all in the name of 'HOLY WAR’?
In view of the plight of other corps members who are not finding it so easy at their various places of primary assignments, one wonders if serving the fatherland actually worth it .Do you think serving one’s fatherland is worthwhile seeing the attitude of the Governor of Plateau state who had the intention of swearing -in the local government council chairmen despite the killings? Can he have the strength to do so or even address the aggrieved if those killed were his sons and daughters?How can one explain the disposition of the Police who were called immediately the incidence happened, report had it that the three corps members would have survived the attack if only they had the needed help?
One wonders if serving the fatherland actually worth it when you think about the meager N9,500 monthly allowance given to corpers that is not even enough for transportation talk less of feeding.Do you really think serving one's fatherland is worth the stress thinking about the long hours of queuing during registration or the not so conducive environment we were made to live in at the orientation camp? Is it the exploitation of corpers by companies or those days of offering compulsory community service without the necessary resources that is worthwhile?
I am aggrieved, I am disturbed, hurt and really worried. I believe I am speaking the minds of my fellow corps members. Things can't continue this way, this is not the first time Youths corpers will be at the receiving end. The fear of things like this made some of us preferred serving in Lagos. If only the poor Adetola had the power to influence his posting, his life wouldn’t have been cut short at the most promising time of his life.
Why would anyone in his right senses chanting ALLAH AKBAR(meaning God is great) kill innocent and hapless fellow human being? What values are our Muslim brothers imbibing in themselves? If what happened in Jos is what Islam stand for, then I thank God for making me see the world from a different perspective, I can’t thank Him enough for making me choose a faith that preach peace, brotherliness and oneness.
N.Y.S.C would be better off if restructured, Youth service should be optional, it should not be made compulsory for graduates. The right thing the Federal Government should have done is to allow graduates go back to their hometown for their youths service, the method of dispatching graduates to an unknown town should be stopped in view of the insecurity and instability in the land.
Like I said earlier our Muslim brothers should educate themselves, it is barbaric and sinful to kill. Everybody has the right to life, the liberty to exist and associate freely without fear or trepidation.They should read and interpret their Quran very well. They should embrace dialogue, the spirit of brotherliness and that of loving one another. If God didn't show his love, they wouldn’t be celebrating eid el-Kabir .Generations would have been wiped away but for God's love.
I share in the pain of Pa Odusole who lost a son, a son that would have made the difference, I share in the pain of the aggrieved, those who lost someone in the Violence .May the almighty God give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
Corps members are mourning .Innocent bloods have been shed in the country and this particular one is uncalled for . God help us, God help Nigeria (Amen).

The significance of Obama’s Victory to Africa.
Obama's model of change has restored the hope of the common man, he has demonstrated a good understanding of the problems that an average American faces and exhibited how best to tackle these problems.
Is it his Tax plan for an even distribution of wealth or his plan to stimulate American economic growth that is not worth appreciating?
In a world widely dominated by the capitalists, I think Obama's plan will go a long way to make the much anticipated effect as regards even distribution of wealth among americans. We will see a different American country that will take back its place as a world leader and a country that will be changed in all ramification.
What lesson can Africa learn from Obama’s Victory ?In a continent where Politicians play to the gallery, engage in Political gimmicks without the interest of the common man at heart, having Obama as American President should be the beginning of an end to the mess which has been the hallmark of Governance in Africa .Imagine the sheer patriotism and passion that characterized the Presidential campaign, who will ever know that a 'common Plumber' will be the centre of attraction during the U.S presidential campaign? The lesson from this is that it is high time our leaders have the interest of the common man at heart; Leadership is not by writing and formulating policies that cannot have the desired effect or by making promises that cannot be fulfilled.
Our leaders should know that modern Governance is beyond God- fatherism, Personal interest and Programs that lack the required bites. Africans at large should see an Obama presidency as a reason for a change in our orientation, a change in the way we think. Most of our problems actually started from our different homes, our upbringing determines what manner of leaders we will become in the future. What manner of leadership will come from a child who was brought up in an environment characterized by Corruption? Our leaders should emulate the American system, the excuse that the systems has been in existence for years doesn’t hold water, having the right people at the helm of affairs is the secret. Africa is blessed with talents, professionals that have made their mark in their respective fields yet we are still faced with fundamental problems. We have idealist and impressionist at the helm of affairs and until the status quo changes, we will still be tagged 'The developing Nations'.
I also watched keenly the support Obama enjoyed from Africans back home, since the day he made his choice known, the Obama Phenomenon is like a bug that has been felt by all, from his native home in Kenya to Nigeria, Obama is widely celebrated. I'm sure some of us did not put so much energy in our respective Countries Election as we have done with the American Presidential election. Yours truly cannot be found wanting, I actively participated in every issues during the campaign, I would have donated to his Campaign organization if not for the fact that donations are not welcomed from non -American citizens.
In as much as we support Obama, of what significance is an Obama Presidency to Africa? Can an Obama presidency solve our electricity problems, improve our education sector, have a meaningful effect on our economy ?After all said and done, I don't think an Obama presidency will bring about the change that we so much desired in Africa. Rather it can only spur our leaders to bring about the desired changes. What do you think is the message he passed when he rejected donations from Nigeria, he is obviously telling us that we should use our money to solve our fundamental problems. It is disheartening that a Professor that knows the value of education will encourage people to pay millions of naira for table reservation for a fund raising dinner when the country's education sector is in a state of decadence, where is our sense of Patriotism? These are people that condemn the education sector, they are the ones that will tell anybody that cares to listen that the Country’s graduates are not employable. it's high time the people up there realize the need to give back to the society, in as much as they have the money to throw around, send their children abroad because they have lost faith in our educational sector, they owe this country so much else the products of the condemned Educational system will end up being the armed robbers next door.
